​Our goal is to help our individuals find successful employment while fulfilling the employers' staffing needs. We aim to 'bridge the gap' to successful employment.

Stefanie has been in the field for over 10 years. She brings wealth of knowledge to the team and is the Vice President of NJAPSE.  She has worked closely with Day Habilitation, Supported Employment, and Transition. Her commitment to the individuals we work with are second to none.

  • Alternatives Inc. is founded. 

1981

  • Opened first Supervised Apartment Living Program (SAL I). This was only the second supervised apartment program to open in the state of New Jersey.

1998

  • Alternatives Inc. begins Supported Employment Program. 

  • Alternatives goes on the web! Developed first website

1999

  • Expanded SLP to Ocean County

  • Secured vendor status with DVRS

2002

  • Alternatives Inc. gets accredited for Supported Employment through CARF.

2005

  • Second CARF Accreditation secured

  • EVMS database development & implemented (Data base system specifically tailored for Supported Employment used across the State)

2008 

  • Alternatives Inc.'s Supported Employment was re-branded as Bridges to Employment. (BTE) 

  • Third CARF Accreditation secured

  • Secured $400,000 grant from DVRS to develop Career Development Center for individuals who are deaf & hard of hearing

2009 

  • BTE opens up the Career Development Center (CDC) for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing population. 

2014 

  • BTE opens its first Day Program, Abilities in Motion (AIM) in Raritan NJ. 

2018 

  • Bridges to Employment's 10 year Anniversary! BTE rolls out its new Logo and Website.

2021

  • Bridges to employment starts new summer internship grant funded program

Abilities In Motion Day Program Manager

Audra started her career in this field as a job coach for Bridges to Employment. She has since grown to become the Manager for the Career Development Center. She is a strong advocate for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

Stephen has been in the field for over 8 years and started as a job coach for Bridges to Employment. Since then he has been an advocate for Employment 1st and is a member of the NJAPSE Board.
