DEAF & HARD OF HEARING AWARENESS DAY event at Six Flags Great Adventure was established in 1984. Division of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing of New Jersey Department of Human Services, Director Richard Herring introduced the program to the community.
In 1985, New Jersey Association of the Deaf (NJAD) was given to run the fundraising program with Deaf & Hard of Hearing Awareness Day. NJAD and various Deaf & Hard of Hearing organizations became collaborative with this fundraising program in the year of 1987.
This fundraising program allows Six Flags Great Adventure provide NJAD a bulk of admission tickets at real-low prices which allows the organizations to raise the funds for their organization operations needs. If we sell at least 75 tickets, we will be able to sell tickets at the window on June 11, 2011 and will receive a larger donation towards each ticket. If you would like to attend the event on June 11, 2011, tickets will be sold at the window for a discounted price as well and pricing is as follows:
Theme/Safari
$35.00
Hurricane Harbor
$25.00
